mailSCW

Features

The whole surface, in one list.

Everything below is in the shipping app. Where something is partial or platform-specific, it says so — an inventory that quietly rounds up is not an inventory.

Accounts and providers

Mail

  • Microsoft 365 over Graph, with OAuth
  • Shared and delegated mailboxes
  • Gmail over its own API, with OAuth
  • Any IMAP / SMTP server
  • As many accounts as you like, side by side

Calendar

  • Microsoft 365
  • Google Calendar
  • CalDAV, including self-hosted
  • ICS files and webcal:// subscriptions

Contacts

  • Microsoft 365 and Google
  • Local editing, written back to the provider
  • Photos and birthdays
  • Per-contact mail history
  • vCard import and export

Mail

Reading

  • Comfortable and compact density
  • Threaded conversations
  • Pop-out reader windows
  • Tracking-pixel flag per message
  • Remote images off by default, then cached
  • Organisation warning banners stripped from previews, all of them rather than the first
  • Print a message to PDF
  • An attached email opens as an email

Triage

  • Snooze until a time you pick
  • Watch for Reply — resurface it if nobody answers
  • Rules, with a dry run that shows what they would have done
  • Categories and tags
  • Saved searches
  • @mentions
  • One-click unsubscribe, offered only where it genuinely works
  • Mark a whole folder read without the window locking up

Sending

  • Undo send, on a delay you set
  • Scheduled send, server-side on Microsoft 365
  • Mail merge from a CSV — one personalised message each
  • Signatures per account, and separately for new, reply and forward
  • Share links instead of attachments, via OneDrive or Nextcloud
  • Auto-reply
  • Pop-out composer windows
  • Drafts that survive a crash, and a Cancel that means cancel

Finding things

Search that hits the disk

  • Runs against the local database, so it works offline
  • Across every account at once, or narrowed to one folder
  • Mail, calendar, contacts and notes share the same store
  • Saved searches for the ones you repeat

The attachments view

  • One row per file, not per message
  • Name, type, size, sender, folder and date, all sortable
  • Filters stack, and any one of them can subtract
  • Every term matches file name, sender or subject
  • Inline images left out, so it is the files you were sent
  • Click through to the message it arrived in

Calendar

The grid

  • Month, week, work week and day
  • Every account overlaid in one view
  • Colour, visibility and reminders per calendar
  • Native reminder popups, with snooze and reschedule

Events

  • Recurrence, including "second Tuesday of the month"
  • RSVP, and propose a new time
  • Join buttons for Teams, Zoom and Webex
  • Forward an invite as a real .ics
  • Declining removes it from your calendar, not just your reply
  • Location suggestions while you type

Mirroring across accounts

  • Busy time kept in step between Microsoft 365, Google and CalDAV
  • Any direction, any combination
  • Busy only, title, or full detail — per account
  • Copies carry no attendees, so nothing can be invited by accident
  • Exclude a single event with one checkbox
  • Drift repair reconciles copies and reports what it did
  • A second PC recognises existing copies instead of duplicating them

Notes, tasks and AI

Notes

  • Full formatting toolbar
  • Tables, images with resizing, real links
  • Search in the sidebar with everything else
  • Syncs while you are using it, not on a ten-minute timer
  • Conflicts shown side by side, never silently resolved

Tasks

  • Tasks and reminders alongside the calendar
  • Microsoft To Do and Google Tasks, both ways
  • A repeating task keeps its reminder: Microsoft drops it when you complete one, and mailSCW puts it back at the same distance from the next due date
  • Repeats and reminders on Google Tasks, which has neither on its own
  • Turn what an email is asking for into a task or an event

AI, on your own key

  • Summarize a thread
  • Draft a reply in your voice
  • Rewrite tone before sending
  • Email to note, note back to email
  • Pull out the actions hiding in either
  • Per-provider keys and model choice
  • Live token and cost display
  • Requests trimmed to fit the model limit instead of failing

Meeting recorder

  • Captures microphone and system audio together, from the client that already knows about the meeting
  • Follows your headset — when Windows moves the communications default device mid-call, the recording moves with it
  • Tells you when a track has gone silent, rather than handing you an empty file afterwards
  • Stops itself when the meeting ends, with a countdown you can cancel
  • Optional transcription and summary, through your own AI key
  • Recordings stored locally with everything else

Fenced in on purpose

Recording is off unless the build is started with it enabled, and the check sits in the code that starts capture rather than in whether a button is drawn. You acknowledge the responsibility once before anything can record, the indicator cannot be hidden, and there is no setting that would let it run invisibly.

Why it is built that way →
